I live in South Whitehall Township in suburban Allentown, PA, having come from Lansford, near Jim Thorpe PA, to the Lehigh Valley for educational and employment opportunities. While at Bell Laboratories as an executive secretary, I attended the evening school, now the Wescoe School, at Muhlenberg College ('77).
Although my major was Economics, Liberal Arts concentration, coupled with advanced and independent studies in photography, played a role in cultivating a lifetime passion. Digital and computer technology have opened great opportunities for my landscape photography ventures. I employ a prize-winning impressionistic technique with certain photographs that conveys a more abstract, romantic feeling. Many insist that these computer enhanced images are PAINTINGS!
My primary work in the Lehigh Valley over 25 years has been in public relations: director, corporate communications, Mack Trucks, Inc.; manager of marketing, Eastern PA Business Journal; senior advertising account executive, Lehigh Valley Magazine. Business ventures included Lewis Communications (consulting/publishing) based at the Hotel Bethlehem, and Executive Appointments, Ltd. (a retail concept) at the Allentown Hilton. Lecturing involved Business Communications at Lehigh University, Bethlehem PA, and a consultant to The Rauch Center for Executive Development; and teaching Management at Cedar Crest College, Allentown PA.
I'm a member of the Lehigh Valley Arts Council, Allentown Rotary, National Association of Professional Women, and the Lehigh University Choral Union; a past president of the International Association of Business Communicators, Lehigh Valley Chapter; past president of Quota International of Allentown; past member of the Society of the Arts.
My husband, Phil Hublitz, a retired educator, and I have been Allentown Art Museum members for many years, and belong to the Ptarmigan Ski Club. We share the excitement of travelling the US and abroad. Our daughter Jennifer Getchell is Vice President, Merchandising, for Paris Asia, Ltd. in New York City. My sister Christine Donohue of Pittsburgh is a Judge of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania; my brother Steve of Everett is a retired PA state police officer.
Photography by Jacqueline Lewis (marketing effort) began in 2006. Recognition has come from the West Park Civic Association - first prize in the graphics category for my impressionistic technique; outstanding achievement in photography crystal award - International Society of Photographers; Photography Laureates - best of 2008 photography; solo exhibits at Bethlehem City Hall Rotunda, invited by the Bethlehem Fine Arts Council; and at the Lehigh Valley Arts Council offices.
