About my approach slide show (1) Travel and outdoor scenic photography are my specialties. I apply a prize-winning "impressionistic" digital photographic technique especially to images of the Greater Lehigh Valley (PA) area, and where other US or international scenes lend themselves to this creative process. The result conveys a softer, romantic feeling. Many insist these computer enhanced photos are paintings! Throughout, I like to use vivid color saturation. I hope to convey my inspiration and excitement of discovery to the viewers and make them feel a part of the photograph. To quote travel writer George Miller: "Travel is a product of the heart, not the itinerary." www.photosbyjlewis.com

Italy - Florence and Tuscany Photographs slide show (78) Photographs of Florence and Tuscany. Florence (the capital of Tuscany) and Tuscany have such powerful artistic and historical associations with the Renaissance that it's easy to forget their significant role in modern Italy. Japan Photographs - Kyoto and Tokyo slide show (61) For eleven centuries (794-1868), Kyoto was, after Nara, the Imperial Capital. Kyoto is a living museum--there's no way to visit all of its 1,800 Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples, along with the art galleries, during a short--or even a long--visit! Tokyo, formerly Edo, became the capital after Kyoto. It has reinvented itself as one of the world's most modern, exciting, and energizing cities. Japanese gardens, born of the meeting between the beauty of nature and those receptive to it, are meant to encourage reflection. Photography by Jacqueline Lewis. www.photosbyjlewis.com
